How to clean your Dentures
Cleaning your dentures everyday can be one of the most important things you can do to help keep your smile looking great. Did you know that plaque can form on dentures, making them dull? Failure on your part to clean dentures regularly could result in denture odour too.
Here are some very simple tips to help you get started. Your dentures can break very easily, so a good tip is to always fill your sing with water. You should then clean your dentures over the sink, this way if they slip out of your hands by accident they won’t break. Always rinse your dentures to remove any loose particles of food. Using warm water is best. Never use hot water because it could cause your dentures to become warped. Apply denture cleaning paste to a toothbrush with soft bristles. Never use ordinary toothpaste unless directed to do so by your Dentist. Make sure you brush all areas thoroughly. Don’t use stiff bristle brushes, because they could damage your dentures. Rinse dentures well under the sink water, removing all residue from cleaning them. While sleeping, soak your dentures in some type of cleanser it’s always best to use something recommended by your dentist. Brush your gums with a regular soft toothbrush to help remove plaque build-up while stimulating your circulation. Now you can reinsert your dentures. You can give your mouth a fresher, clean feeling by rinsing it with a quality mouthwash a few times a daily.
